All school staff in England: help us to understand how books are purchased in your school.

We want to understand more about how books are purchased in your school and what influences these decisions. This will inform an important research project for a major national publisher.

In this research, we’re interested in books including:

For primary: Reading books such as fiction and picture storybooks for reading time, book bags and the library or book corner.

For secondary: Literature set texts for English such as novels, plays, poetry; reading books for home and the school library.

We would like you to fill out a short survey about the procedures for purchasing books in your school. The survey will take no more than 10 minutes of your time.

If you aren’t involved in the purchasing process, then please seek input and advice from a relevant colleague, if possible. This could be:

  • In primary schools: Your English / literacy coordinator,  a school library lead or a member of your senior leadership team
  • In secondary schools:  Your Head of English, a member of the senior leadership team or a librarian.

As a thank you for completing the survey, the first 20 respondents will receive a £20 voucher (£10 for you and £10 for your colleague).

Please fill this survey out by Friday 28th January.
